3.5" Desktop Hard Disk Drives from Western Digital
Western Digital has three series in its product portfolio, designed for different application areas:
WD Caviar Blue
WD Caviar Blue hard disk drives feature SATA II and SATA 6 Gbit/s interfaces and are also the only series still available with a parallel interface. WD Caviar Green

2.5" Notebook Hard Disk Drives
Western Digital offers the Scorpio Blue and Scorpio Black series for notebooks and other devices that support 2.5-inch drives.
WD Scorpio Blue
This series offers capacities extending from an economical 80 GB to a full terabyte in a small form factor. This gives you all the capacity you need to store your photos, music and files directly on your notebook. Advanced search algorithms and sophisticated energy management functions ensure low power consumption, yielding longer battery life in notebook and netbook systems. These drives also feature WD’s unique WhisperDrive technology, making them one of the quietest 2.5-inch drives available. This series additionally includes PATA drives for maintaining legacy hardware.
WD Scorpio Black
Scorpio Black hard disk drives deliver desktop class performance with a 16 MB cache and 7,200 rpm rotation speed. These high-performance hard disk drives are specifically designed for use in top-end notebooks and as fast external drives. They give high-performance notebooks enormous storage capacity and speed without reducing battery life or increasing noise levels.

Toshiba notebook hard disk drives
Microtronic also carries Toshiba notebook hard disk drives, including 2.5-inch drives with capacities up to 1 terabyte. Toshiba drives in the MKxxx and MQ01xxx series feature extremely high reliability.
MQ01xxx series
The new MQ01xxx series of 2.5-inch HDDs offers storage capacities of 250 GB to 1 TB in a low-profile design (9.5 mm height) with a maximum of two platters. The preferred application areas are portable multimedia and gaming notebook computers, mobile workstations and other applications requiring high storage capacity, and they are also well suited for use as external HDDs. MKxxx models
This series also offers capacities up to 1 terabyte. With a shock resistance rating of 400 g (operating) or 900 g (non-operating), your data is perfectly secure. Toshiba’s MKxxx series fulfils the demand for extremely compact mobile storage with high capacity. Along with use in top-end computers and high-performance data storage systems, they open up additional application areas such as set-top boxes and video recorders for personal use.
1.8" Hard Disk Drives from Toshiba
Toshiba offers storage capacities up to 320 GB in the compact 1.8-inch form factor (54 x 8 mm) with a 5 year warranty. Most of these SATA II devices have a maximum power consumption of 2.5 W, and like the MQ01 series they are whisper-quiet at 19 dB. These embedded HDDs provide the storage capacity and speed you need for upgrading notebook computers without degrading battery life or increasing noise levels. For example, the SATA drive with two platters and 120 GB storage capacity features a rotational speed of 5,400 rpm and a fast data transfer rate of up to 150 MB/s. This drive also has a shock resistance rating of 500 g (operating) or 1500 g (storage).
